* The .in registry eased registration restrictions and made .in available to everyone in 2005. So from a domainer's perspective, the Indian cctld aftermarket is new. Thus, domainers are much more likely to buy directly from the registry rather than from private resellers. In terms of the reseller market, sales of high-quality .in domains are frequent, but very low margin. My higher margin sales of .in have been from unsolicited enduser inquiries.
Note: LLL.in composed entirely of the letters ABCDEFGHILMNOPRST, were "bought out" at the end of March 2007. Overall, over 5000 LLL.in domains composed of lesser quality letters remain unregistered. About 1500 or more LLL.in domains have been registered in the last week as a result of the directi registration sale.
* .Com dominates all international domain markets.
* The numerous extensions do depress the resale value of a typical domain. Conversely though, it also expands the overall market by making a supply of good names available to actual Indian endusers.
Take time to explore previous sales and information available at Namepros and elsewhere. A solid, profitable business plan can be formulated for .in, but it requires work. If you don't have a good, informed plan, you will lose money.
Good Information......thanks!
