Price changes and payment options are coming.

Domain Name Wholesale Exchange, a domain sales platform designed for domain investors to sell to other domain investors, will make changes after the new owner surveyed users.

Domain investor Ryan Ewen and his company Domain Manage acquired the platform earlier this year and immediately surveyed users to ask what they wanted to change on the platform.

Among the questions, users could rank their top priorities. Out of a pre-set list of six possibilities, people ranked “better curation of domains” and “more domains on the platform” at the top.

Based on qualitative answers, I’d argue that “more buyers” should also be there. It’s a bit of a chicken and an egg problem like any marketplace: sellers will only take the time to list if they think people will buy; buyers will only take the time to look if they believe sellers have listed good domains to purchase.

In response to the survey, Domain Name Wholesale Exchange will make some changes.

First, it will allow users to list more domains on the platform depending on how they list them:

  • Flea market – unlimited
  • Curated domains – by selection
  • Dutch Auction – 50 at a time
  • Standard Auction – 25 domains at a time

This is an increase from 10 domains per day up to a maximum of 25 domains concurrently.

Second, it will keep a $99 minimum price on Flea Market and Curated Domains but will allow Dutch Auctions to start at $29 and Standard Auctions at $69.

Third, it will enable PayPal and bank wire as payment options.

Finally, it will increase fees from 12% to 15%, with a minimum fee of $7.50.
