Winning auctions at DropCatch is a great feeling. The domain drop-catching platform offers both public and private auctions with the majority being domains that were caught on the drop.

The HugeDomains-owned company does millions of dollars in revenue annually, backed by a huge number of ICANN-accredited registrars: Almost 1600 registrars, per the official source.

These domains, once won, end up at NameBright, also operated under the same umbrella. This drop-catching and registration combination operates with efficiency and it’s a lucrative business.

Domains at NameBright utilize privacy WHOIS as an option. If you need to secure your privacy as a bidder and registrant of domain names, turn that feature ON.

Despite the ability of this feature to block off spammers and other online pests, email addresses in the WHOIS are reachable, per ICANN rules. NameBright will send you notifications of emails sent to these addresses under its NameBrightMail platform.

Someone who operates from the email address sashilover@163.com and who appears to have picked the domain Teng.com at the drop, is spamming domain investors who won DropCatch auctions, taking advantage of this DropCatch feature.

The Chinese spammer uses this intro in his spam emails, customized to address the registrant of his target:

“I am an active seller of Aged domains for SEO purposes, I noticed that you purchased the domain name [redacted] for your projects, and I have a list of aged domains that serve your needs just like the one you purchased, here are some of them.”

The spam includes lists of truly garbage domain names, as seen below:

tasteofrunway.com – $2600
amplitude-beauty.com – $4200
helpmannawards.com.au – $1200
starvingartistbar.com – $1000
hotelesplanadefremantle.com – $1000
pibarsf.com – $3400
redmillhouse.com.au – $900
boneandjointdecade.org – $2500

researchexceLLence.com – $2500
jonathanproduct.com – $2500

You can turn off the delivery of such spam at NameBright if you wish, in order to avoid serial spammers such as sashilover@163.com from blowing up your mailbox.
