Hello.
I recently was subject to a UDRP action, and was considering not responding (common online law-blog advice) vs. presenting my case in an effective way.
I recently responded and prevailed. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you guys for the contributions, the forum, and the commentary. It really helped a layperson like myself get comfortable with the process, willing to state my case, and ultimately defend myself from losing my domain names.
Getting a ruling of RDNH was a nice bonus I was not expecting. I find the process fascinating now, and am sticking around to watch and learn more about domain name arbitration and where the "line" for fair use gets drawn. I don't think I'll ever be a Name Pro but I can hopefully become a Name Enthusiast. :D
A very similar case chose not to defend themselves and lost their case. There were a LOT of similarities between the two, although I do believe they had a toe "over the line" so to speak versus my own situation. Still, it could've been me.
Cheers,
- Mike
