There have been many times I visited a domain industry website and thought of an idea that would be helpful. On occasion, I’ve taken some action and gotten in touch with a decision maker to offer a suggestion. Off the top of my head, I don’t recall seeing anything implemented (yet).
I received an email from Spaceship this morning announcing a new service called Unbox. You can read about that offering on the Spaceship website.
What caught my attention in this morning’s email is the section about growing together:
With these options, Spaceship is actually courting feedback from its customers on how to make a better product and offer better service. This simple call to action is a great way for the company to hear from customers about how they can improve and possibly offer services that will benefit users.
From a user perspective, this shows that Spaceship is interested in learning what its customers want and the company is willing to consider new offerings with customers in mind. In addition, highlighting the product roadmap shows what the company is working on releasing. There’s also a vote functionality, which can help customers show Spaceship what they deem important.
I don’t think enough industry companies seek feedback from customers. This is a great way to help get an idea of what customers need and give them what they are seeking in a registrar and domain name sales platform.
