Spaceship offer $4.99 new .com domain registrations and cheap transfers

Registrar offers big discount with no limits.

I do not often write about a domain name registrar’s sale prices, but a new deal starting today warrants its own story.

Domain name registrar Spaceship began offering new .com registrations today for just $4.99. Unlike promotions at other registrars, there’s no limit. No coupon code is required.

I contacted Spaceship founder Richard Kirkendall to find out how long this offer will last. He said it will be for at least 100,000 registrations, and maybe more.

The company is also offering .com transfers for $8.17 using code SPSCOMTR. Renewals are currently $9.98, which is below Verisign’s wholesale price.

Spaceship, owned by Namecheap, has quickly grown over the past year. The most recent official numbers from Versign show 460,882 .com registrations at Spaceship as of the end of September 2024, up from 79,681 in September 2023.
