Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday, September 11th, 2024

Every September 11th I still think of that day. I took off Tuesdays my whole life. I always had worked weekends and needed a day off during the week so it was Tuesday. On Tuesday Sept 11th my friend calls me from Chicago trading office that I used to work at and said turn on the TV. He says that the people he talks to in NY are trapped above a burning building and they are in a bad place. He is crying.

I turn on the TV and of course, it’s all over the news. I watch and see a plane has flown into the building. Of course, I thought that’s where it ends—dealing with a terrible event and a building on fire. Little did I know how the day would unfold. I was home all day. Watched every minute all the while hearing that coworkers were burning to death and the people in Chicago on the other end of the line could do nothing but listen in. Something that would give many of them PTSD for many years to come.

To this day I find myself shaking my head thinking about it. It’s fresh and never goes away. The ONLY positive I get out of that day is I have never seen America unite like it did that year. I have seen what the US could be if we bonded together. One voice, one cause, one nation. It was just as beautiful as the event was horrible. It’s true what they say, nothing unites like a common enemy and that day we had one.
