Like everyone in the 90s I collected memorabilia. Baseball cards, autographs, toys, everything. I was working at the Board of Trade and pretty much any politician or celebrity would get a tour. I had baseballs sitting on my counter on the floor ready for people to come by. I was always surprised how many people kept 8X10s of themselves on them. Or at least their assistant did.
My Dad and my friend’s Dad both had black car services in Chicago and they were always thinking of me and got me autographed pictures of any stars they drove. I have hundreds of photos inscribed to me. Trump, Bob Hope, Pamela Anderson. If they were famous I probably have an autograph. My favorite and least favorite story is I wrote to Linus Pauling. Dr. Pauling was one of greatest scientist of all time and many don’t know him. He won a Nobel Peace prize in 1962 for nuclear weapons research but also was a pioneer in chemical bonding and was the person who proved Vitamin C was of vital importance in the common cold. His accomplishments go on and on.
I wrote to Dr. Pauling thanking him for all he had done and that his work would change my generation and help us live longer, safer, healthier lives. I received a response 4 or 5 months later saying Dr. Pauling, unfortunately, had passed but his assistant wanted me to have some letters and cut-out autographs as a token of thanks. Saying he would have loved the letter and would have wanted me to have them. I hated that he had passed but forever thankful to have the handwriting of one of my favorite people. I have others I love like Tom Hanks and Burt Reynold but Dr. Pauling is probably my favorite

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. All names were chosen by us, Shane, Travis, and/or Josh . Everything we say is based on our research or is opinion. Do your due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, registrars, and individuals that are auctioning names. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
