A nimble mind. It’s what keeps us learning. It’s what keeps up our youthful expressions. Our youthful inquisitiveness. When this is lost you have made the home turn towards end of life. While I enjoy the songs of the past, I am still searching for that new song that makes me smile, which makes me want to listen to it a few more times. It’s not an attempt to stay young or relate to younger people. To relate to someone is no more than sharing an interest. If you are always increasing your interest or diving deeper into an existing interest, you will attract those who enjoy that interest or yearn to learn what you’ve gathered through all the years of practice.

People ask me how I know so much about various things or can keep up with so many interests. The answer is 99% of them I have no interest in being a dedicated fan or expert. I merely want to enjoy and/or learn anything interesting. I do that by listening or enjoying conversations with others who are the opposite. Who are maxis at something. That’s where the knowledge and information lies that doesn’t exist elsewhere. So for all the talking I do, there is the rest of the day I spend listening. Most of which is listening to something I don’t know. Not something that makes me feel good or wasted time. As much as I would love to catch up on the Godfather movies and finally see them, I feel like there are 6 hrs of something else I will enjoy more in the day. I’ll save all that for the days when my only choice is to lay there and take in the classics. I’m not there yet
