Saw.com: Bye bye bot traffic

In recent weeks, Saw.com mentioned that its back-end stats would count all visitors, including traffic that would arrive from bots and crawlers.

That approach led to elevated traffic numbers that don’t represent human activity. Saw.com is now changing that approach, switching certain filters on, so that bot traffic isn’t included in domain statistics.

The approach requires traffic averages to get reset:

Goodbye bots, crawlers and non-humans – you might notice a dip in your traffic numbers, but do not worry! That is just the noise being filtered out.

We are focused on making your landers load fast for real people, anywhere in the world. There is still room for improvement, but this is a big step forward!

I think we should reset all the daily average visitor stats now that these are a bit more accurate. What do you think?

Unlike other platforms such as Afternic, Saw.com stats display aggregated traffic that shares the top countries of traffic origin, along with averages for daily and monthly traffic.
