First half continues upward trajectory for premium domain revenue.

Chart showing premium domain revenue at Radix hitting record in H1 2024.

Radix has published its premium domains report for the first half of 2024, and it was the best half the registry has ever had when it comes to premium domain sales.

The company reported $5.16 million in retail revenue from premium domains. That’s up from $4.8 million in the second half of 2023 and $4.64 million in the first half of last year.

$3.83 million of last half’s haul came from renewals, $1.33 million was from new registrations, and $0.03 million was from platinum (one-off) sales.

.Tech, .online and .store were the top three domains by revenue, which was the same as the last half. But .fun made a surprising surge, jumping into the #4 slot. Radix stated that web3 companies are propelling the extension.

GoDaddy and Namecheap were once again the top registrars by premium revenue. Namecheap’s Spaceship registrar has grown significantly as well but only accounts for 2% of premium revenue at this point.
