Here are the top five stories on Domain Name Wire from the past month, as well as podcasts you might have missed.

1. .IO domain names aren’t going away – There’s been a lot of speculation about what will happen with the UK agreeing to a deal to hand over the British Indian Ocean Territory. I don’t think .io registrants have anything to worry about.

2. Court affirms decision that Lambo.com should be transferred to Lamborghini – It seems some domain investors were disappointed or surprised by this decision. I think this was an easy win for the car maker.

3. Judge denies GoDaddy’s motion to dismiss in antitrust lawsuit – GoDaddy asked for some of the claims made in Entri’s lawsuit to be dismissed, but the judge denied GoDaddy’s request.

4. Company on a .biz tries to hijack the .com domain – The company that uses eagledata .biz wanted the matching .com, but a World Intellectual Property Organization panel said this was a case of reverse domain name hijacking.

5. Suddenly, there’s a lot of competition for domain sales platforms – A lot of companies are trying to fill the hole left by Uni and Dan. This competition is good for domain investors.

Podcasts

Real domain investor results in 2024 – Logan Flatt and Mark Levine returned to the program for their popular podcasts sharing actual results. Listen to how their domain portfolios are performing through Q3 of 2024.

Diversification and domain investing strategy – Nikul Sanghvi returned to the podcast after a few years to discuss how he has diversified his portfolio. His .co domains are still doing well, though. After the podcast, he reported a $50,000 .co sale.

DomainEasy domain sales platform launches – I chatted with the founder of one of the new domain sales platforms (see top story #5).

Smart investing and India’s domain market – I was excited to sit down with Deepak Daftari, a successful domain investor in India. We talked about a lot of topics, including the market for domain names in India.
