Check out the official schedule for ICANN Seattle.

ICANN has published the schedule for its Community Forum, which will take place in Seattle in March.

The meeting technically starts on March 8, but the welcome ceremony isn’t until Monday, March 10. That evening, the opening reception will also be held.

While I mostly attend these events for networking, I always find a few sessions interesting. The ICANN board meetings with various groups (such as the contracted parties) are a good way to understand what issues are currently important to various stakeholders.

On Tuesday, there’s a potentially interesting session titled Updating Systems for the Evolving TLD Landscape. The synopsis promises to bring together leaders of tech companies to talk about how businesses are gearing up for the next round of top level domains.

…They will discuss the critical importance of updating systems and products to ensure they work seamlessly with both legacy and new TLDs, promoting consumer choice and digital inclusion for users worldwide. With the expansion of TLDs, businesses face new opportunities and challenges in maintaining a competitive edge while ensuring their digital products and services are accessible, secure, and serve their customers globally. The session will focus on the journey these companies have taken to adapt their systems to the diverse and growing domain name ecosystem, ensuring they are not left behind in a world where digital inclusivity is key.

I’m interested in seeing the speaker list for this one, and I hope it’s not just companies talking about getting a dot-brand.

I expect a large contingent of domain investors to attend the meeting. Much like domain conferences, many social events will take place in the evenings.

While attendance is free, advanced registration is required.
