Gutex.com, SSTowing.com: Domain investor ready to fight double UDRP filings!

It’s a double UDRP whammy but nothing that SyncPoint, Inc. founder, Mr. David Lahoti, isn’t familiar with.

The internet entrepreneur and domain investor shared news of two pending UDRP filings, for domains under his control: Gutex.com and SSTowing.com.

Both UDRPs were filed around the same time, with the Gutex.com filing taking place at the WIPO while the SSTowing.com one was filed at the Forum. Mr. Lahoti prepared landing pages for both domains, a practice that serves as a public statement and a warning about the anticipated outcome.

For Gutex.com:

GUTEX.COM is a five-letter, pronounceable premium .com domain, acquired in 2021 via GoDaddy Auctions for $2,050. Its appeal lies in its brevity, phonetic strength, and strong brandability — particularly with an “X” ending. The domain has not been used to target the complainant or its business. It was acquired for its intrinsic commercial potential, not in relation to any particular trademark.

For SSTowing.com:

We are actively defending against the complaint and have requested that the Panel issue a finding of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking (RDNH). The name “S&S Towing” is a non-exclusive, widely used business name format that is not subject to exclusive ownership under trademark law — especially in an industry as localized as towing.
