.Com - .Org or both

Recently I've been registering quite a few political, and what I refer to as social domains. While .com is preferable in most cases, there have been times where only the .org was available so what to do?

For example, i really like the name iTrustYouJesus and it was available in both .com and .org. Well, i chose one and own it today, but I hesitated to register the other domain even though it would cost me all of $10.17. So what to do?

What are your feelings about .org as a possible alternative to the .com? Inquiring minds would like to know.
