Can a registrar delete your account and all domains for any reason?

We have had members on NP complain that their registrar accounts were unexpectedy closed. The reason cited usually was not a minor one.

If you think this was done unfairly to you, you could consider using ICANN to appeal the matter. However, ICANN does seem to require that you try to resolve the dispute first with the registrar.

Should one use multiple registrars just in case one closes your account? For the reputable registrars, in my experience, it's never been an issue. Consider what behavior seemed to trigger the concern, to avoid the problem from happening again?

We'll see if NP members who had a similar experience like yours will provide some other insights.

They can do it, but I have not heard of such case.

Account Closed (Disallowed)

Heard many cases in the ol' days before, consistent with registrars like NetSol, Epik.

There has to be more to the story to being able to interject on this really. Entities don't just go haphazardly deleting accounts. Being said research + personal experience should be key in registrar decision-making.

More details are certainly needed. Now we saw Brent Oxley's names at GoDaddy get frozen for awhile. You have to know the whole story. Not sure if they would ever just delete them.
