.AI auction starts today, GoDaddy’s next auction on tap

Sedo is holding a .ai domain auction and GoDaddy is prepping its next premium domain auction.

Two domain name auctions taking place this month are worth tracking.

First, Sedo is holding an auction of .ai domain names that kicked off today.

There are 184 .ai domains in the auction, including choose.ai and company.ai. Most of the names have reserves, although many are below $100.

Sedo’s .ai auction will conclude next Thursday.

The other auction is a GoDaddy Premium auction that will run March 11-18.

At under 600 domains, the auction is a bit smaller than the last one. Eyeballing the list, it seems the quality of names isn’t as good as last time, but they are priced accordingly. Only nine domains have starting prices over $5,000. Auctions effectively start at their reserve price, so you don’t need to waste time bidding on domains only to find that their reserves are too high.

Notably, this auction includes inventory from more than just GoDaddy’s NameFind and BuyDomains. The auction includes domains that are currently registered at a variety of registrars and owned by other sellers.
